"Imbrications is a rather ludic piece, playing with rhythms and colors. Series of intertwining blocks (patterns composed of a few measures, most of the time, 4 measures), answer one another, and interlock, creating a gradual build-up in both range and harmony. At the beginning of the piece, the main theme is introduced by the vibraphone. Everything that follows is in perpetual motion until the final part, which is much calmer, as if we were quietly contemplating everything we had built before..."
